Welcome to the Northern Illinois Soaring Championships (NISC) for 2004.
This site is currently being maintained by John Cochrane. Contest results are avaialble from his web site. You can find results for previous (2004) and current (2005) contest days.
You can use any sailplane and will be scored on a handicap system. Use any 126, APS, or 35MM camera with color film or use the read out from a GPS. We use any airport in the latest Illinois airport book for turn points or any airport on the sectional if you go out of state. The following RLA's are also allowed; Chicago Glider Club, Wade, Meadow Creek, Niznik, Prairie Lake, Sky Soaring, Casa De Aero, Olson, & Landings. You may use your start point as a turnpoint. Clow field may not be used as a turnpoint.
A maximum of eight turnpoints are allowed on each flight. See the Quick Start Guide page from more details on how to begin contest flying with us.

In 2003 the manditory $10.00 contest fee was elimated. Pilots are encouraged to contribute this fee to the contest's sponsor (the ChicagoLand Glider Council). Contact John Harrison the CLGC treasurer for details.
